I love having a blog. Although I don’t post as much as I should (and hopefully that’s changing) I think it’s really important to have something I consider mine. My Instagram account will always belong to Instagram. I have to follow their rules which are designed around their own profit motives. I shouldn’t have to be tricked into spending hours on someone else’s platform just to share my thoughts and connect with others.

I’ve had several stints at running this blog with highs and lows but I always find myself wanting to do more and post more which is why I migrated my blog from Squarespace to Micro Blog. With this migration I’m hoping to do “Short Form” posts. The idea here is that instead of writing quick thoughts on Instagram I’d write them here and then post them wherever. I want my work to live beyond the confines of a platform where I’m the product. I still plan to write long articles from time to time but rather than endlessly chasing perfection I’ll just post and them and see what happens.

So that’s what this is. This is The Overlap. My platform. I’m excited to post on here from time to time. Let’s see where this all goes.
